Bijender Goel, the visionary founder of the Modern Pythian Games, has called upon ambassadors and diplomats from China, Indonesia, Iran, Myanmar, Georgia, Belarus, Brazil, UK, and Malta to recommend their respective governments to recognize the Pythian Games as Traditional Cultural Games. This recognition aims to unlock numerous benefits for artists and players, similar to the opportunities presented by the Olympic games.

Mr. Goel made this passionate appeal during a coffee meet hosted by His Excellency Mr Wang Xinming, Minister Councilor- Culture and Tourism, the Embassy of China and the CD Foundation at New Delhi on July 27, 2023. The event witnessed the participation of esteemed dignitaries from various nations. In his address, Mr. Goel emphasized the importance of preserving unique identities while celebrating the shared humanity that binds us together. He highlighted that the power of cultural exchange through the Modern Pythian Games can build bridges of understanding and cooperation that transcend borders, paving the way for a brighter future.

The International Pythian Council has proposed a collaboration with the Ethiopian Government aimed at promoting arts, Ethiopian cultures, and traditional games to boost the economy through increased tourism and foster cultural exchange by reviving the Pythian Games in Ethiopia.

In a meeting with Ambassador Bizunesh Meseret, Deputy Head of the Mission at the Embassy of Ethiopia in New Delhi, Mr. Bijender Goel, Founder of the Modern Pythian Games and Secretary General of the International Pythian Council, presented the idea of hosting the Pythian Games in Ethiopia. The collaboration aims to showcase Ethiopia’s rich cultural heritage, boost the country’s economy through increased tourism, enhance sports development, promote sustainability, and unify nations by offering a unique global platform for artisans to present their cultures and compete in traditional games.

A delegation of Modern Pythian Games-India met Mrs. Sujata Chaturvedi, IAS, the Secretary, Ministry of Sports, Government of India, on May 19, 2023, in her office in New Delhi to brief her on Pythian Games and developments taking place around the world. Mr. BH Anilkumar, IAS, Mr. Rajesh Jogpal, IAS, Mr. Neraj Kherwal, IAS, Ms. Raadhika Khetrapal, and myself joined the delegation.

Mr. Dilshod Akhatov Khamidovich, Uzbekistan's ambassador to India, met with Mr. Bijender Goel, founder of Modern Pythian and founding secretary general of the International Pythian Council, to discuss the possibility of a partnership between the Uzbek government and the Modern Pythian Games. This potential partnership aims to promote tourism, boost the economy, and generate opportunities for the people of Uzbekistan, as well as establish Uzbekistan as a cultural leader and engage in global cultural diplomacy.

Mr. Goel and the Ambassador discussed the possibility of holding the Modern Pythian Games in Uzbekistan, a major event that would attract athletes and spectators from around the globe. The Ambassador expressed enthusiasm for the Modern Pythian Games and their potential to promote Uzbekistan as a tourist destination.

We had a fruitful meeting with Dr. Venkata Sastry, Director of the Career Centre at SRM Institute of Science and Technology yesterday 12th Jul 2023. We discussed the upcoming Pythian Carnival Tamilnadu, a regional event focused on international collaboration and cultural exchange. Both parties are enthusiastic and actively exploring collaboration opportunities with the University to ensure the event's grand success. We will officially announce the confirmed date and venue at an earlier date than anticipated.

We had an incredible meeting with His Excellency Dilshod Akhatov , Uzbekistan Ambassador in India, at the Uzbekistan embassy in New Delhi on 12th July 2023 (today).

Also, suggested His Excellency to chair the international committee of Diplomatic Missions in Delhi, to boost and endorse Pythian games worldwide.

Today, I had the privilege of meeting Her Excellency Ms. Bizunesh Meseret, Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in India. We had a wonderful discussion and explored potential collaborations to promote tourism in Ethiopia, a truly captivating country.

Ethiopia, the 6th most populous country in the world, is a land of immense beauty and cultural richness. With its remarkable history and seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites, it offers a treasure trove of experiences for travelers. From the breathtaking landscapes to the vibrant traditions, Ethiopia is a must-visit destination for adventurers and culture enthusiasts alike.
