Snigdha Venkataramani is an established Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer, teacher, Carnatic Vocalist and music composer. She has received training in Bharatanatyam art form for over three decades under the tutelage of the world-renowned dance Guru Padmabhushan Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan at her institution Ganesa Natyalaya, New Delhi. She has also had the fortune of being trained by internationally acclaimed performer Ms. Rama Vaidyanathan. She is the recipient of several prestigious awards including Rajiv Gandhi National Award for Unity, Delphic Golden Award, and The Aryabhatta Award. Snigdha has established a school of performing arts in Fremont, California named “Laya Dhwani Academy” and imparts training to various enthusiastic disciples. The school has successfully several arangetrams for dance and music. Her disciples are high achievers just like her and have won several prizes in prestigious dance and music competitions all over California and even at the National level. Snigdha has been the Master Artist recipient for the Alliance for California Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program.
